What 9/11 Means to Me
No one ever expected that to happen. Torment, bitterness, death, tragedy, emotional pain, and a country in mourning. Life can change in one millisecond.
It was a bright, beautiful day in New York. But that day, on 9/11 at 8:46 am, when the day was just starting. They attacked us. Yes, the events of September 11 are important to me.
Even though I was not living in the country at the time or even born, as a matter of fact, the attack on the World Trade Center still made a massive impact on my life. I still have memories related to it. I remember seeing a video of people jumping off the buildings, others calling their families to say goodbye, and people crying knowing that death was surely coming. It had an impact on me and taught me something.
9/11 taught me to make life count. To say I love you to those you love, to hug your mom, to have fun, to work hard and succeed, to forgive, and just enjoy life in those fantastic moments and even during those that are not fantastic. Take advantage of this little time we have here on earth.
Rather than a day of sorrow, I see 9/11 as a representation and reminder of love. To spread love and live your life, so when death comes unexpectedly as a thief at night, you have no regrets of what you did and you go through your memories with gratitude in your heart.
