Best Movie of the Decade
“Avengers: Endgame” managed to become the highest grossing film of all time because it was a spectacular, communal event that audiences knew they had to leave their houses to experience.
The Benedict News sent out a poll to the school for the students to answer what their favorite movie of the decade was and not surprising at all, it was “Avengers: Endgame.” Some 53 students were in favor of this.
The other movies listed were: “Fast & Furious” (The Series) with 36 students in favor; “Avengers: Infinity War” with 18 students in favor; “Aladdin” with 2 students in favor; with other movies with either 1 or 2 students voting in favor. With this being said, students at St. Benedict’s Prep, and people all over the world due to the movie’s rating and comments, think that “Avengers: Endgame” is the best movie that has yet to come out this decade.
“Avengers: Endgame” is the sequel to 2012’s “The Avengers,” 2015’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” and 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War.” All of were produced by Kevin Feige. In “Infinity War,” the mad titan Thanos begins his hunt for the most powerful objects in the universe, the Infinity Stones. With the “Space Stone,” given by Loki, and the “Power Stone,” Thanos sends his army to retrieve the “Time Stone” from Doctor Strange and the “Mind Stone” from Vision. Meanwhile, Tony Stark meets up with Bruce Banner (The Hulk) and sorcerers Doctor Strange and Wong. With help from Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Stark and Strange join forces together and agree to stop Thanos. In space, Thor also joins forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy (Star-Lord, Drax, Rocket , Groot, Mantis , and Gamora, the daughter of Thanos) who warns Thor of his power. Thor travels away to defeat Thanos with Rocket and Groot, while the other Guardians join forces with Stark, Strange, and Parker. In Wakanda, Steve Rogers and his team, Black Widow , Falcon, Scarlet Witch, War Machine, and Bruce Banner (The Hulk) join forces to protect Vision and the Mind Stone in his forehead. Although King T’Challa/Black Panther, and his Wakandan army fought him, Thanos was able to catch all of the 6 infinity stones and then snapped his fingers. Because of this, he swiped out half of the universe.
The sequel to this movie, and all of the Avengers movies, is probably the best movie of the decade. This movie is “Avengers: Endgame,” as stated before. We can consider “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Endgame” as two pieces that, when joined together, form one movie. In Endgame, the people who died from the previous movie have been rescued. A team forms to then go find Thanos and take the infinity gauntlet. They soon find out that he destroyed the infinity stones. Therefore, Thor killed him. But they still had to get everything back to normal. In order to do this, they had to time travel. And so they did. The group of people who essentially went to go find Thanos, travelled back in time to collect all of the stones before Thanos did. Although they had the stones, Thanos still had the gauntlet. So that group of people went to go find Thanos (remember this is the past not the present). Thanos and his army arrived at the battle scene and completely dominated the team. Later on, all of the superheroes from Marvel came into action against Thanos’ army. This fight lasted about 30 minutes. The Avengers came out victorious but Ironman had to sacrifice his life by snapping his fingers. So basically, the Avengers won in the end.
To sum up, everyone could say that Avengers: Endgame is the best movie of the decade by far. It wraps up all of the Avengers movies into one. The movie was long and very interesting to watch. There was a lot of action involved like never seen before.
