If you have not registered to vote, there is still time. The following information below will inform you on how to register to vote before the October 18th deadline.
Requirements:
- Be a US citizen.
- Be at least 17 years old at the time of registration and at least 18 years by November 8th.
- Live at a New Jersey address by October 9th.
- Not serving a sentence (including parole) for a felony conviction.
- Not deprived of the right to vote for a criminal conviction under New Jersey election law, unless pardoned or your right to vote has been restored.
- Not currently judged by a court to lack the capacity to understand the act of voting.
Registration by mail:
- Fill out and print a voter registration application form for your county or contact your County Commissioner of Registration or Superintendent of Elections to request one by mail.
- Fill out the Form
- Mail the form to your County Commissioner of Registration or Superintendent of Elections no later than October 18.
Registration in person:
- Get the voter registration form your County Commissioner of Registration or Superintendent of Elections.
- Fill out the form.
- Deliver the form in person to your County Commissioner of Registration or Superintendent of Elections by October 18.
